Review of Taj Restaurant and Cafe

The Taj Café and Restaurant is currently located on Dungarvan Road, but they are moving premises shortly to 157 Borrowdale Road, opposite Hellenic School.

I am such a lover of great Indian food and have eaten in many Indian restaurants on the sub-continent, including the best that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have to offer.

At The Taj, the stage is set the minute you walk through the door and are greeted by polite waiters in full livery.
Our experience at The Taj delivered a full explosion of the taste buds. Everything that we tasted was rich, spicy and indulgent. For me, it was a real taste of India and not only reminded me of my travels, but left me dreaming of more.

I like my curry hot and spicy and this it certainly was! We sampled their lamb rogan josh and chicken korma dishes, which were both beautifully tender and popped with spice and flavour. With delicious homemade garlic naan, a perfectly paired, simple Nederberg Shiraz (Shiraz is always my red wine of choice with a hot curry) and great company, what more could you possibly desire on a winter’s night?

The Taj is highly recommended by Sole Sistas and we so look forward to our next authentic Indian evening there.
