Wine and Craft Fair 2017

Handcrafts Zimbabwe P/L and Shamwari Gallery have partnered to bring you the inaugural Craft and Wine Fair which is being held on Thursday the 25th of May 2017 which is Africa Day.
The fair will take place in the beautiful gardens of the Shamwari Complex which houses a number of shops and business enterprises. The fair is a celebration of our local cottage industry and design, showcased by unique handcrafted goods. The craft will be complemented by fine wine, delicious food and live music to create a festive mood. The emphasis of the fair is on handmade or handcrafted goods.

Of the 30 stalls there will be 3 wine distributors selling both international and South African wines, food stalls including locally made chocolates, cheeses, breads and cured meats and the majority of the stalls are of various crafts. We have had to be very selective of our exhibitors because of the limited number of stalls so as to give variety to our visitors and also cover as many diverse craft products as possible. Our craft stalls include handmade jewelry, bespoke clothing and shoes, innovative cutlery, home décor items and children’s products. There will be a sculpture garden which will feature Robert Bonjesi’s stone sculptures. Our artist of the fair is Webster Mubayirenyi who will be exhibiting his vibrant and eye catching paintings usually inspired by the Zimbabwean landscape.

Music will be by the afro jazz September Band who have promised to add an energetic vibe to the day. Pariah State Café and Pizzeria are resident at the Shamwari Complex and will be on hand to provide full bar and catering services. Entry is free for children under 12 so bring the kids along and have their faces painted at the Tiny Lillies stall. With a little something for everyone the fair is a chance to pick up gifts, stock up on wine for the winter or just meet up with friends while appreciating what Zimbabwean artisans have to offer. Gates open at 10am until 4:30pm. Adult entry is $2.
